Report: Russia to discuss oil, LNG deals with Pakistan's government
NEW DELHI, Jan 16 (PRIME) -- The Russia–Pakistan intergovernmental commission will discuss long-term deals with oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) on Tuesday, newspaper The News reported on Monday citing Energy Ministry officials.
"For the import of Russian oil and LNG on a GtG (government-to-government) basis, both countries need to first negotiate the IGA (inter-governmental agreement) as had been finalized and inked in the case of the Pakistan Stream Gas Pipeline Project (PSGP), which was earlier called the North-South Gas pipeline project," the sources said.
According to the officials, cooperation in trade and industry, electric power, hydropower, renewable energy sources, oil and gas production, as well as settlement of Pakistan's debt to Russia will also be discussed.
